About

Vanessa Previero MSc is a registered Associate Nutritionist (AfN) and Clinical Nutritionist based in London, specialising in metabolic health, weight management and long-term nutritional resilience. She holds an MSc in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Aberdeen (2025), a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (2001), and a Venepuncture Certificate from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. She has maintained continuous CPD compliance throughout her professional career.

Vanessa began her clinical career at the Individual Wellbeing Diagnostic Laboratories in London, progressing to Lead Clinical Nutritionist and managing a small team while growing the nutrition arm of the clinic from start-up to a fully established service between 2001 and 2003.

For over 20 years she has managed a private portfolio of clients, focusing on general health, metabolic function and sustainable weight management. She later launched her own practice, Nourishing Resilience Ltd, continuing to work with individuals seeking evidence-based nutritional support tailored to their circumstances.

Her professional perspective has been profoundly shaped by lived experience. In 2013 her daughter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. Since then, Vanessa has overseen her daughter’s nutritional care through treatment, recovery and long-term management following a diagnosis of hypothalamic hyperphagia and hypothalamic obesity. Over a ten-year period she successfully structured and maintained a normal BMI through sustained nutritional intervention.

Between April and June 2023, Vanessa undertook a supervised placement with Success Life After Cure Limited, working under senior paediatric endocrinology supervision to design and implement weight-loss strategies for adult brain tumour survivors with hypothalamic obesity.

Vanessa’s work challenges simplified narratives around weight management. She speaks openly about the limitations of “calories in, calories out” thinking and advocates a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach aligned with updated NICE guidance. Her focus includes the metabolic complexity of obesity, the long-term implications of GLP-1 weight-loss medications, nutrient adequacy, digestive health and sustainable behavioural change.

She combines clinical science with lived resilience, offering measured, practical guidance grounded in both academic research and direct patient care.
