Julian Ruck’s multifaceted career spans law, academia, media, and literature. After training as a lawyer in London and lecturing on law, Julian transitioned to managing Legal Aid contracts within the Not For Profit Sector, demonstrating a commitment to social justice and access to legal services. In addition to his legal background, Julian is a prolific novelist, columnist, broadcaster, political journalist, and public speaker. He has contributed regularly to influential platforms including the national press, Westminster’s Labour Uncut, and the Institute of Welsh Affairs, and is currently a columnist for two of Wales’ largest newspapers. He is also the author of seven acclaimed novels, with plans to release his eighth in late 2024/early 2025.
Julian’s independent voice is evident in his role as founder and editor of the political website ‘Letters From Wales Uncut’, where he engages in thoughtful commentary on Welsh and UK politics. Notably, Julian remains unaffiliated with any political party or organisation, maintaining his impartiality and integrity as a commentator and advocate for informed public discourse. With a diverse range of talents and a passion for addressing societal issues through writing and speaking, Julian continues to make significant contributions to the media landscape and political dialogue in Wales and beyond.
