Buki Mosaku will be speaking at the ‘What they don’t tell you about unconscious bias in the workplace’ event, organised by the Insurance Institute of London.
Like many white collar professions, the insurance industry is tackling underrepresentation of minorities and marginalised groups, and in particular ethnic minorities. With over 25,000 members, London is by far the largest institute of the CII’s (Chartered Insurance Institute) 54 local and associated institutes. As part of its ongoing attempts to redress the disparity in opportunity for ethnic minorities, women, disabled and other marginalised groups; the IIL has teamed up with Buki to deliver an interactive talk on ‘What They Don’t Tell You About Unconscious Bias in the Workplace’, drawing on themes from his ground breaking book ‘I Don’t Understand’- Navigating Unconscious Bias in the workplace, and his “IDU? Methodology” to help its members and the wider insurance industry to effectively tackle career-stifling workplace bias so that it can organically fast-track representation of underrepresented groups in senior and high profile roles.
