Buki Mosaku attended this year’s Fair Game Annual Conference at which he supported LCP’s Football Analytics team lead by Bart Huby. Buki lent his expertise in a series of meetings with and focusing on Owners and Directors Test (OADT). His discussions focused on navigating career-stifling unconscious bias, a problem that Buki says is common in professional football given the underrepresentation of ethnic – and particularly people of colour – minorities in high profile, senior and leadership positions. It is an issue affecting all aspects of the industry, from grass roots clubs and associations to the Premiership. Buki is an active voice and exponent of EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) requirements being included as part of the new Independent Football Regulator’s code for Football Governance as reflective of good practice. This message was echoed by key figures in the sport including the Chair of Kick it Out, Sanjay Bhandari, the CEO of the Football Supporters Association Kevin Miles, and the Chair of the Football Association, Debbie Hewitt.
