About

Jacqueline Kibby is a fiction editor, author, and the founder of Scorpius Books — the first UK publisher to focus on dyslexic-friendly adult fiction. Since launching the publishing house in 2020, she has made it her mission to dismantle barriers to reading and redefine how the publishing industry thinks about accessibility.

With a background in English Literature, professional training in copy-editing and proofreading, and a sharp editorial instinct, Jacqueline has been recognised for her technical expertise and creative flair. Her company’s inclusive publishing model has likewise gained recognition: Scorpius Books was a finalist for the British Dyslexia Association’s Innovation Award in 2023, won the British Book Awards Small Press of the Year (East of England) in 2024, and was nominated again in 2025.

Under Jacqueline’s leadership, Scorpius has helped change the narrative around reading for adults with dyslexia, fulfilling her core belief that great stories should be accessible to everyone. Scorpius’s catalogue of books are designed with specialist fonts, wider line spacing, and low-glare paper — helping more readers enjoy fiction without discomfort or stigma.
